Rain. It's a big part of life in the Pacific Northwest. No, it's a WAY OF LIFE here...a part of life everywhere else. Gradually, you get used to it. You even miss it when it's gone. And when it returns it's like a long lost friend. Most wonderful are the cool breezes that accompany it, along with the softer light of a day overcast. It feels good to be alive, mixing with the breeze and the damp and seeing the tiny droplets alter the landscape. Watching the cats daintily meander around puddles, seeing the pup run obliviously through same (later to track muddy prints on the tiles and carpet).
Much as I enjoy a good thunderstorm, I enjoy the easy rains and cool breezes even more. They come and go throughout the day, rarely pouring down for hours on end. Just as the hydrangea welcomes the shower, so do the apples on our recently planted tree...we cross our fingers and hope they last to be harvested and sampled this fall. Sure, we all get tired of daily drizzle...but once it's your routine, it's sad to see the long, dry, warm days of summer. Ah, if only it was always like it is today!

Wow! What a gorgeous hydrangea (my absolute favorite plant)! Funny that we both posted about rain this morning, huh?
Yes, I got a kick out of that. Shows how important rain is to us! Am really enjoying your blog!
