Kissing the cool goodbye

By Thursday we'll be joining much of the rest of the country and suffer a scorching hot spell. Already they are predicting records will be broken and highs of 105 may suck the life out of the weekend. Sometimes, it's too hot to move. During these dog days, even the dog doesn't like to go outside. It's hard to believe, after lows in the low 50s last night, that we'll be above 100 in just a few short days. This would be our 2nd "hot spell" of the summer, so it's not like we're baking as cities like Dallas, Tulsa, Denver, and points east are. We're lucky that our hot days don't last for months and that we get some nice, cool breaks. The photo today is one that reminds me of cool, damp days and chilly nights...something I'll be wishing for very soon!!
