The leaves are almost gone. From the trees that is...there are still many on the ground. The days are not yet cold, but the sun gives way to clouds most days. Nights are chilly, and foggy. Fall is waning and tomorrow December arrives.
Not enough snow in the mountains yet. Drier than last year. Here in the valley too. Each year is a bit different...lots of rain and snow one year, dry and warmer the next. No two alike, just like snowflakes.
The trees got their leaves late this year. Seems like just a short time before they began to turn. Color as early as late July, cutting that growing season shorter. Deep green turned to red, yellow, and orange. Now the branches are bare, the colors on the ground and waiting to be raked.
Fall is ending, winter to come. And when will we next see spring?
